Jericho Ministries has joined Saints Prison Ministry you will be redirected to the new site in 10 seconds.YOU CAN BE A BLESSING! In the State of New Jersey there is a substantial opportunity to help people of faith who are coming out of the criminal justice community. Please note the following statistics*: ุ
In
New Jersey there are 28,000 men and women incarcerated. ุ
About
14,000 are released each year. ุ
30-35%
of prison inmates profess Christianity. ุ
An
estimated 4,000 to 5,000 Christian inmates are released each year. ุ
41%
of New Jersey ex-offenders will return to jail. (*Information provided by several
NJ prison Chaplains.) These estimates demonstrate that
there is a large number of people who need help in making the transition from a
system of incarceration to a lifestyle of faith and freedom. THE JOSHUA NETWORK The Joshua Network can enhance the
efforts of a faith-based community that is trying to help a parolee to succeed
in todays world. Such networks
function properly with several elements in place: ุ
Spiritually
mature mentors who will take a personal interest in the person released from
jail. ุ
A
congregation committed offering discipleship to an ex-offender. ุ
Prayer
support ุ
Coordination
& assistance with: Housing; meals; job interviews; transportation; personal
management skills (i.e., laundry, buying and preparing food, etc.); and family
reconciliation. ุ
A
commitment of six months of time to get a recently released person on track. The Joshua Program can offer informational support
and training for interested congregations.
The training covers: (1) the corrections system & environment; (2)
parole rules & regulations; (3) mental health issues; and (4) mentorship
styles. FINDING

Joshua Ministries.
FREEDOM FROM THEIR EARTHLY BONDS JOSHUA MINISTRIES is a program of JERICHO PRISON MINISTRIES. It seeks to encourage and facilitate the process of churches
ministering to those released from jail.
Joshua seeks to support churches that have responded to the call of
helping ex-offenders to build up their faith in God and reduce their likelihood
of returning to the kinds of associations and activities that led them to
incarceration. JERICHO MINISTRIES P.O. BOX 465 35 GARDEN STREET MOUNT HOLLY, NJ 08060 TEL: (609) 261-2045 FAX: (609) 261-2145 MATTHEW 25: 34 & 35 Then the King will say to the
people on his right, Come, you that are blessed by my Father! Come and possess the kingdom which has been
prepared for you ever since the creation of the world. I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and
you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you received me into your home, naked
and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison
and you visited me. This type of service is the goal
of JOSHUA MINISTRIES! EMAIL: JOSHUA MINISTRIES
